Bridal Fashion Week was upon us! Let’s take a little step back from Fall 2015 to admire the beautiful and elegant collection of J. Mendel’s Spring 2015. Prepare yourself to fall in love with the designer’s perspective of a modern day bride! The structured silhouettes are gorgeous making use of interesting fabrics and layering. I hope you’ll like this set as much as I did! Have a great week ahead.
I am a fan of Christos. I’ve written about the brand previously and given a chance, I would wear a Christos gown if I were to get married all over again. So it’s no surprise that I’d be featuring it again starting with their Fall 2015.
The things I love about the collection: it was all about white lace, a stark contrast to the colour of Spring 2015. Here we a see a softer shade of lace, of satin, of silk. Patchwork. Intricate. Romantic. All the things we can’t say “No” to, right?
“For me, each bride is her own world. Every bride has her special fantasy, desire and dream. For me, the process of creating the bridal gown is like making dreams become reality. Every bride receives our full attention and every process of designing and creation leads to a dress that is truly one of a kind.”
– Lihi Hod
Leading bridal gowns designer Lihi Hod launches a new collection inspired by vintage jewelry. Textile affluence, layers and transparencies along with complex couture embroideries create a new ravishing collection.
“Try to imaging that moment when you open an old jewelry box” Lihi explains. “You might discover an exceptional collection shining and glimmering, full of depth and sensitively crafted. I wanted to recreate this moving moment through my dresses. To turn them into jewelry in their own right”.
For over a year Hod collected textiles from around the globe to use in the new collection, aspiring to create a rich and diverse look for each dress in the collection. Depth is created by combining layers of opaque and transparent fabrics such as silk chiffons and tulles with a variety of laces. The color palette ranges from gleaming whites to cream to nudes.
Swarovski crystals, glass beads and gemstones were used in true couture techniques. Hours of embroidering to the layers of supple fabric resulted in a harmonious look, resembling the jewelry the designer had dreamed of.
The result – A collection of unique, flattering dresses, embodying a nonchalant, delicate boho-chic look. The dresses all incorporate body suits or shapers that provide a contemporary look and allow for narrow silhouettes and flattering low cut backs.
Lihi’s dresses, ever in tune with current fashions, include this season two super-hot pieces: A maxi skirt, paired with a trendy midriff-revealing cropped top, and an embroidered ensemble consisting of pants and a light tank top.
Sharing with you the video clip from their most recent catalog shoot, enjoy!
Prepare yourself for a series of beautiful fabrics, sexy slips, and modern styles. Johanna Johnson is a Bridal designer from Australia known for luxurious fabrics and elegant styling. Her Spring – Summer 2014 collection is definitely for the confident and modern bride, a woman who’s secure in her own skin without the over the top design. The styling and accessories are also eye catching. Such gorgeous gowns adorned with Swarovski and precious stones!
Loving these pretty dresses from her collection and I’m sure you’d love them too! Featured designer: Johanna Johnson
How come I’ve only learned about Lihi Hod this year? In case you haven’t read about her work, she’s a designer based in Israel and after design school, she interned in Dior with John Galliano. Fast forward to this year, her Bridal 2013 Collection has “romantic” sewn in every thread of her design pieces, with a side stitch that reads, “sultry”. I’m loving her collection at the moment. Don’t you agree?
Spotted this today and I am secretly (well, not anymore) coveting this beautiful and gorgeous wedding dress. I thought it was an editorial but it’s not. It’s a real wedding, in a garden, oh so romantic and natural. Come see these photos and be inspired with me, have a great Wednesday!
In recent years, we’ve seen a growing trend toward RTW wedding dresses. Some brides may not know what design they want or which looks good in them. Fortunately, we have Mi Sueno in the Philippines. It’s the first bridal boutique in the country offering RTW bridal fashion and it’s the authorized retailer of Pronovias Barcelona and Atelier Diagonal.
This is my first post on wedding dresses (I feel there will be more later on) and I’m loving these designs because they’re simply beautiful and elegant, two words I’ve learned to stick by when I was planning our wedding. It’s so easy to get distracted with so much options out there. I was so happy with how my wedding dress turned out. I’ll be sharing that with you very soon. For now here’s our edited list for Lela Rose, Theia White, and Anna Maier.
Lela Rose is a designer who loves romantic silhouettes and embraces femininity.
